The Democracy in Action (DIA) team has been working directly with community members, community leaders, and elected officials in North Chicago to help individuals become more involved in their local government.
Most recently, DIA was focusing on bringing awareness about the local elections that happened in North Chicago on February 28, 2023 and April 4, 2023.

We are also spreading the word that the North Chicago School District School Board is moving from appointed to elected starting in 2025. Did you know that almost 70% of your property taxes go to the schools? This election means that you or someone you know in your community can run and have a say in what happens in the school district!
